OTB, ya you know me…
Making down the Super D course we made a few stops. Without the race tapes marking the course it was difficult identifying some of the routes. As we headed into the lower rock garden, RL stopped before the technical section. I decided to go ahead as I navigated through this section successfully during my practice and race runs the previous week. As my front wheel goes over the first rock, next thing I know I was launched OVER THE BARS (OTB)! WOW…it’s been awhile since I went OTB. I can never get over that feeling as you are thrown over violently and bouncing aroung on the ground. This OTB kept me on the ground briefly. I wasnt able to get up as quickly as I wanted to. Fortunately nothing was broken. Left hand and fingers were numb for awhile and typical scrapes on the elbow and shoulder. I rested for a bit while the Team was practicing the rock section.
After I got myself together, a group of us headed to the XC course. Below is a video capturing my mishap…uggghhh
